OKSIMIN: ANG BAGONG NGAYON
The province of Occidental Mindoro through the initiative of the provincial government is preparing to adapt the paradigm shift on its development sectors in health, economic, infrastructure, and institutional sectors to the “New Normal” situation; that is life under pandemic, caused by the Corona Virus (COVID-19). Adaptation to meet the challenges of the New Normal is proposed in the province’s recovery and rehabilitation plan consisting of appropriate priority programs, projects, and activities, categorized in three (3) components: Survival, Preparedness/Adaptation and Economic Rehabilitation.
In preparation for restarting operations, there are the programs, policies, and ordinances that be implemented for effective measures during the pandemic under the New Normal.
On Infrastructure Development Program and Indigenous People’s Welfare, I believe that efficient infrastructure plays a vital role towards sustainable socio-economic growth, thus, creating livelihood opportunities, better transportation accessibility encourages investors from neighboring provinces, and provides refuge in times of weather disturbances and calamities.
Our efforts had been directed to improve the provincial road network in this province. We aimed that our road infrastructure will accelerate the development of our rural communities which is the vital ingredients to boost the economy.
This year, a total of 25.86339 kilometers of Provincial, Barangay/Farm to Market Roads of the province have been completed.
